Security Canada Central 2022 Report from Inaxsys

08/11/2022 - At 2022-11-08

We invite you to read our report on the latest Security Canada Central (SCC) exhibition. This is our way to share with you the fantastic atmosphere that surrounded us throughout the show!

About the exhibition and its organizers

Produced and managed by the Canadian Security Association (CANASA), the SCC kicked off on October 19th at the Toronto Convention Center. More than 170 exhibitors from around the globe gathered to share thousands of technological security solutions. This event brought together almost all the people who define the security industry.

CANASA, founded in 1977, is a national non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the security industry. The association has more than 1,000 member organizations in 10 regions across the country, representing all segments of the industry. CANASA not only produces the largest security exhibitions, but also supports its members through an extensive network of services, such as providing quality education and training, marketing and communications, and covering the latest industry information and news.

Inaxsys has been a CANASA member for many years and as always, they were present at the SCC. This year, Inaxsys has significantly expanded its product line. Divided in 6 stations, participants and guests of the event were able to witness the latest innovations from the Canadian manufacturer. First off was their flagship access control solution from ICT, one of the most advanced access control systems with a built-in alarm on the market.

The ICT system is interesting in that it is one large ecosystem that includes everything: access control, signaling, information processing, contactless readers, monitors, controllers, alarm keyboards, a server part, and power supplies. The server is loaded with the latest Protege GX software, a powerful enterprise-class building management, and with it, you can quickly and comfortably manage any multi-door system.

Second stop was the ARKIV software. ARKIV is an Intelligent Video Management Software (VMS). This VMS has a major advantage over similar systems, as it provides the client with a large set of video analytics on board. ARKIV supports popular analytics such as real-time face recognition and license plate recognition. You can set up simultaneously many analytic events such as area intrusion, line crossing, and others that are customizable to your needs.

Our ARKIV system supports over 10 thousand different devices. Therefore, any brand on the market can be supported by ARKIV through ONVIF and RTSP plugins. ARKIV is very simple and easy to use, as you have witnessed (if you were there) at our second station.

Next on the list was a first-class video surveillance system - STORM. This is a more common video surveillance solution that comes with its own VMS. The STORM video line consists of an extensive range of video cameras, NVRs and UVRs (Universale Video Recorders). Multiple STORM NVRs and cameras have built-in artificial intelligence analytics, such as face detection and recognition, heat map, people counting, smart motion detection, and more. You can get reports on these events through the VMS. STORM is an affordable video surveillance system that gives you a wide range of analytical options for any situation.

Next brand that was introduced at Security Canada is Legend. Legend is a fully NDAA video surveillance solution that consists of a specific range of video cameras and NVRs. Legend offers our latest technology in a rugged design with improved storage reliability.

This next station was really exciting to showcase. In June 2022, Inaxsys became the first official distributor of Ajax Systems in Canada. Ajax is a line of advanced intruder alarm products for small to medium-sized businesses or residential applications. This is a completely wireless system with a starting communication range of more than 2 km - this range is infinitely scalable. Batteries on intrusion devices last quite a long time - from 3 to 7 years. All Ajax security alarm elements are incredibly easy to set up on their free app. All you need to do is scan the QR code.

Ajax is a new, innovative protection and security system. The system works with sensors of different types and purposes, including combined models. With their SmartBracket mounts you can quickly install all alarm models in minutes. Ajax combines ease of installation, modern mobile control, and the highest reliability. The communication signal is securely encrypted, and if you try to jam it, the Ajax system will change the frequency and give a warning signal. In the absence of electricity, Ajax's security system remains operational for about 10 hours.

Meetings Inaxsys employees, exhibition organizers and our partners

After covering our products at Security Canada Central, we wanted to share the other exciting part of this two-day event: meeting with other professionals. We met  Anita Brunet, President of CANASA, and Patrick Shaw, Executive Director of CANASA. They gave us an interview where they talked about the incredible results of organizing 3 shows this year, excellent attendance, connecting people from across Canada, the educational committees, the regional council, and other activities of the association. In addition, it is worth noting that CANASA offers a scholarship program which helps prepare future security system specialists.

Inaxsys is a member of the association and participating at CANASA events is of great

importance to us. Inaxsys, within the association, helps create a better and more cultured security market. Through the association's grand exhibitions, we are not only able to demonstrate our new technologies and their safety benefits to a huge number of professionals, but also we receive a lot of feedback from them. CANASA is an organization in the security industry that unites us - manufacturers, integrators, partners, and distributors. It is an organization that brings together the entire security industry here in Canada.

At SCC, we also had many meetings with our partners and would like to share some of them. Bud Park, owner of Tillicum Agencies, who represents ASSA ABLOY in Canada, talked about his first meeting with Inaxsys and how working with us and our ICT access control product, which started around 2015. The result was a joint project for several buildings and about a thousand locks in the integration of ASSA ABLOY door-opening solutions with an ICT access control system. Today, in the context of the development of the two brands, cooperation continues successfully.

We were able to arrange a meeting with Joanne Rowe, Regional Sales Manager for the world's largest distributor of security systems, ADI. Joanne has been working with Inaxsys and our brands Arkiv, Legend, Storm, and ICT for about 15 years and has an impressive track record of selling global brand security systems. Joanne Rowe is undeniably a legend in her industry as she ran the largest ADI branch for 14 years and now, in addition to managing the sales team in Canada, she oversees the sales teams in Boston, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and upstate New York.

Another important meeting took place at the SCC show with our partner Roger Barnes, president and founder of Rogers Security Systems. Roger spoke about the experience of working with our technical support, and sales team, and the quality of the products we distribute at Inaxsys. Roger's Security Systems specializes in the installation and integration of various security systems. In its projects, Roger's company uses our brand's Storm, Arkiv, but the largest integrations are associated with ICT GX. In the near future, Roger Barnes will create projects using the Ajax security system, the latest products distributed by Inaxsys.
