Range extenders increase the wireless coverage area and give security system equipment even more placement flexibility. You can assure the security, and automation of a business centre, large estate, warehouse complex, or a large production facility by connecting all or some of the devices to ReX 2.

Within the Ajax system, 5 range extenders may increase the radio network's coverage area to 35 km2 in a star formation. Events and alarms are relayed promptly, and in only 10 seconds, the monitoring station and users receive the first photo verification image.

Alarm verification via photos

MotionCam and MotionCam Outdoor motion detectors are compatible with ReX 2. They take a series of photos after being activated, which can be used to evaluate the status of on-site alarms. As a result, fewer pointless patrol assignments are made, offering better peace of mind.

Privacy comes first.

When the security system is armed and motion is detected, the detector turns on its camera. During every stage of transmission, shots are encrypted. No photos are processed or examined while they are being kept on the Ajax Cloud server. Only users with access rights to the events feed with push notifications enabled and security firm staff can view visual alarm verifications.

Extended radio communication range

The ReX 2 range extender will connect to the hub not only by radio but also over Ethernet using the wire as the only or extra communication channel with the OS Malevich 2.13 operating system update. An office complex with subterranean parking, a segmented metal hangar, or a warehouse complex with multiple large buildings can all be covered by a single Ajax panel.

Increased security measures

ReX 2 functions as an additional intelligent control panel by joining devices into an autonomous group and taking over when necessary. Any number of system components can be linked to ReX 2 without affecting communication reliability thanks to automated signal power and frame synchronisation. ReX 2 will continue to function over Ethernet if, for some reason, radio communication with the hub is cut off. ReX 2 receives an alarm from a detector when an Ethernet connection is lost, and it then activates a siren to alert others to the problem and discourage potential thieves.

Prepared to fend off intrusions

Attacks on ReX 2's hardware and software are prevented. It is powered by the virus-resistant OS Malevich operating system. The range extender only transmits encrypted data. A facility's abrupt blackout won't be a problem because of the built-in backup battery.

Deliveries of alarms and photo confirmations are assured

ReX 2 has four antennas and support for two proprietary radio protocols, Jeweller and Wings, to ensure dependable communications. While Wings makes sure that visual data packages are transmitted, Jeweller facilitates the delivery of commands, events, and alarms. Frames, authentication, and encryption are used in Ajax two-way radio communication to synchronise device communication sessions, prevent spoofing, and guard against data theft.

OS Malevich, a real-time operating system created by Ajax Systems, powers ReX 2. Its continuous upgrades are made possible by the OS Malevich modular design. Over-the-air operating system updates are available. When the security system is disarmed, the process just takes a few minutes and doesn't involve either the installer or the end user.

Effortless installation

The connection and configuration process for ReX 2 significantly speeds up installation. Simply scan a QR code with the Ajax app, give it a name, and designate a room to add a range extender to a system. The software also allows for real-time device configuration. ReX 2 can, if required, be turned off or modified without requiring a site visit.
